Petrol Citroen C3: what changes with a remap

On a petrol car the ECU controls fuelling, spark timing and any turbo boost. A remap re-calibrates those maps within safe limits, so the car responds more eagerly and pulls harder through the rev range.

For reference, HDi is the PSA name for its high-pressure common-rail diesel engines.

Of the 8 petrol C3 engines in our data, this one comes 4th for power gain, which is 3 bhp above the C3 petrol average of 22 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 25 bhp and 45 Nm sits below that benchmark.
